Constructivism and Systems are the modes of expression to which I find myself naturally drawn.
Though I am not educated in the disciplines of mathematics and science, what I do know of them
is fascinating to me, and from that information I derive not only pleasure but a constant
stimulation for the ideas that generate my work.

Critiques Choisis
Dowerʼs reliefs and sculptures are very small and their scale has a rhetorical function; as
any teacher knows, in a noisy place a quiet voice may secure attention.
Beautiful as these pieces are as objects, their size and economy have about them a
deliberate quality that constitutes an assertion, a proposition. Mel Gooding. Art Monthly.
March 1987
Dower has reached new heights in her most recent work. The sophisticated manipulation
of space and surface that we have come to expect is more than ever in evidence, but
there is a new and effortless simplicity constantly breaking through which is utterly
beguiling. Andrew Lambirth. Whatʼs On. December 1996
