THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BORDERLINE MOMENTS FOR SHAPING VISUAL FORMS
A short version of the text accompanying the opening of a one-man prints exhibition, DigitalKonkret 10 – GRENZPUNKTE / BORDER POINTS, at the GKG Gallery in Bonn, Germany, 14 January 2005.

I see borderline moments, both existing and probable, as the most creative ones in science and in art. They are moments that affect the science's and art's development. It is impossible either to reduce their present or anticipated relativity to a formula or to regard the present statements as exclusive. Having accepted the relativity one gains some real, that is possible and concretized, as well as potential, freedom to explore.
I have always been interested in questions having to do with transcending the existing systems. I also embraced them in my visual statements – in the transformations.
My recent prints were the direct result of reflection and earlier visual works, both flat ones and those executed in space.
Each act of going beyond the existing visual statements involved approaching a new limit of form.
The moment in which our sense of the limit shifted towards permeability was a necessary condition of the new form's coming into being.
I have been emphasizing the nature of borderline moments all the time, and the issue has obtained the most intensive representation in my latest prints, in which I put forward forms that are constructed exclusively of border points being simultaneously
points of contact, with each particular point at the same time belonging to various formal and colour structures.
A borderline state thus plays a seminal role in my explorations and results, as well as being a means and their goal, with regard to both form and content.
